The KWD and KWD & Co. teams were so excited to get designing this year. Rested and recharged and ready to bring the very best inspiration and ideas to all of their projects, 2021 is looking to be their most exciting year yet.

The KWD team is working across so many varying design aesthetics, from modern farmhouse, boat house, lake house and coastal to contemporary, industrial, Floridian, Caribbean, British colonial and so much more. They are overflowing with inspiration! There are quite a few new faces joining the KWD team as well. And with a photo shoot already booked in for every month this year, they will be sure to keep the inspiration flowing.

In fact 2021 has got off to an incredible start, with two front cover features for one of KWD’s project in Mornington. Explains Kate, “Six weeks in to 2021 and we have our second front cover! Our beautiful Black Beauty project for Cahill Building Group graces the cover of this month's issue of Australian House & Garden for the second month in a row. It’s a home we are so proud of and it certainly takes a tribe to bring together a home of this standing. We worked with incredible supply partners and trades to bring this home to life. We are eternally grateful for the support of print media, which helps showcase our designs in such a beautiful way. There’s nothing like seeing our projects in print and it's a very special feeling for the home owners, builders, developers, trades and supply partners too. It gives me goosebumps every time! And it seems that House & Garden’s Editor in chief, Tanya Buchanan, is a big fan of Kate’s work. And now you are in for a treat with Kate’s newest venture with ‘Australia’s Best House’. A brand new TV series produced by Eye Candy together with Nine Entertainment, this new TV show reflects an Australian lifestyle and is designed for both an Australian and a worldwide audience.

Hosted by the gorgeous Megan Gale, this exciting new show celebrates the built form of the way we live in Australia. From display homes, multi-residential projects, brand new builds to breathtaking renovations, this show will take us inside the best residential projects in Australia.

Joined by Luke Fry of Luke Fry Architecture & Design and Andrew Purdie of Montique Constructions, Kate is one of the judges on Australia’s Best House. The judges will assess the properties in each episode and will name the winner for each category. The winner of each category will appear in the final episode with a recap of all the properties and the judges’ commentary, and the series will culminate in one home being crowned with the title of Australia’s best house.

The series launches this Saturday, Feb 20th with the first episode on at 6.30pm followed by the second episode at 7.00pm (you can watch repeats on Sunday at 5.30am and 2.30pm). The series will culminate with the finale on Saturday March 13th. (You can also watch it on 9LIFE's App - 9NOW.)
